The GS-PW-Series filtration fume cupboards represent the most comprehensive and advanced range of safety cabinets to protect laboratory personnel and the environment from toxic chemicals released during high-precision weighting operations. Thanks to the its own embedded filtration system allows the protection of personnel without the need of any complex ventilation system and energy wasting for air renewal. It usually equips one or more absolute filters for particles (HEPA H14) and one or more secondary activated carbon filters if the user is going to use occasionally solvents. In compliance with BS and EN Standards and international health & safety regulations.

It features:

  • Tests and certifications carried out by authorized body
  • High containment factor ensured by an especially designed aerodynamic, tested according to the strictest international standards
  • Two different absolute particles filter availability: HEPA classe H14 or ULPA classe U17
  • High efficient activated carbon filtration system, BS7989 certified
  • Several specific activated carbon types for different applications
  • Pre-filtration through dust-prefilter M6 class to prevent premature saturation of the main filters
  • Air-tight plenum that guarantees zero leakages
  • Counterweighted sliding front and lateral panels made with laminated safety glass (6 mm thickness) that ensure high chemical resistance and durability
  • Special antivibration base-stand with double-frame
  • Suitable up to 5-digit precision weighting with optimum repetibility
  • Balance area made in 30mm thickness marble placed on dried silica-sand pool
  • Air-flow stand-by inter-locking system to ensure the quickiest stabilization of the balance reading ensuring the best measure repetibility as possible
  • Special double-place weighting-station availability (1800mm available only)
  • Four sizes availability: 1000/1200/1500/1800 mm widths
  • Functional flexibility tanks to the possibility to connect directly the fume cupboard to an existing ventilation system (hybrid solution: DUCTED + FILTERED)
  • CE marking according to:
    • 2006/42 EEC: Machinery Directive
    • 2006/95 EEC: Low Voltage Directive (50-1000 V)
    • 2004/108 EEC: Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive
    • EN 61010-1: 2013: Safety requirements for electrical equipment for measurement, control and laboratory use (classification CEI 66.5)

The GS-PW Series is available in two versions:

  • STANDARD: equipped with a continuous fan-speed change triggered by sliding sash movement (VAV: variable air volume), electronic control system TIMELOG that through a touch screen display allows the reading and setting of fume cupboard functions.
  • BASE: equipped with automatic variation to three steps of pre-settable speed of embedded fan in accordance with the opening of the sliding glass, visual low air-flow alarm (risk of loss of containment) and device hour counter for the management of the maintenance scheduled actions.

STANDARDS

The whole range of filtration fume cupboard GS-Series has been designed, manufactured and certified following the prescriptions of the best international standards:

  • BS7258:1994 – Laboratory fume cupboards: specification for safety and performance
    Containment and face air-velocity test
  • BS7989:2001 – Specification for recirculatory filtration fume cupboards
Retention capacity and efficiency test of the activated carbon filtration system installed on a recirculating fume cupboard. The reference chemicals used within this standard are: isopropyl alcohol, ammonia, formaldehyde and sulfur dioxide
  • ANSI/ASHRAE110:1995 – Method of Testing Performance of Laboratory Fume Hoods
    Containment and face air-velocity test
  • DIN 12924
Containment test with use of SF6 tracer gas

The GS-PW-Series filtration fume cupboards have also been designed and manufactured according to the specifications present in the standard:

  • EN14175-2: 2003: Fume cupboards: safety and performance requirement
design specifications such as to ensure proper operation and adequate worker safety

In order to test the GS-Series fume cupboard with the most stringent protocol for getting the best technical solution for our customer, we had performed through a third party body a containment test following the procedure indicated in the standard:

  • EN14175-3: 2003: Fume cupboards: type test methods
Containment test with use of SF6 tracer gas
