




While maintaining the unchanged characteristics of the GS-Series fume hoods, Gruppo Strola is able to provide special FULL Walk-In configurations of the same units.
These are filtered fume hoods equipped with an integrated filtration system, featuring a floor-mounted structure with a double counterbalanced front sliding sash operated manually.
This solution is ideal for housing equipment that may release hazardous substances, while standing out from competing solutions thanks to the independent movement of the sliding front sash system. This allows operators to conveniently use the equipment inside the working chamber as if the hood were a bench-top model.
Typical applications include the integration of tissue processors used in anatomical pathology, autoclaves, or grinding mills employed in soil and waste analysis laboratories.
The hood is equipped with an integrated filtration system configurable according to the intended application and can be supplied for either total recirculation operation or ducted exhaust operation with a remote motor.
Functional flexibility
The whole range can work within three different modes:
- R-MODE: 100% recycle mode. The fume cupboard is equipped with filtration system and fan and recycle lab-air without affectin the ventilation system of the lab
- FE-C/M-TH-MODE: filtration+exhaust mode with embedded fan and THIMBLE connection to the ventilation system. The fume cupboard is equipped with embedded filters and fan; the filtered air is conveyed outside through a thimble connection linked to an existing ventilation duct equipped with an auxiliary remote blower as well. This solution allow to decouple the containment of the hood from the design point of the ventilation system.
- FE C/M-MODE: filtration+exhaust mode with remote fan. The fume cupboard is equipped with filtration system and works exhausting the air thorugh a duct collard in a exhausting-pipe using a frequency-conveter-controlled fan but keeping at the same time the filtration system on board. This solution allow to fit installation-sites where long-exhausting pipes are present and where total negative pressure is strictly required from the working area within the unit up to the external. According to exhaust-system layout the fume cupboard can even be equipepd with a parzialization valve.

The GS-Series is equipped with a continuous fan-speed change triggered by sliding sash movement (VAV: variable air volume), electronic control system TIMELOG that through a touch screen display allows the reading and setting of fume cupboard functions.
The control panel of the fume cupboard (TIMELOG) allow a real-time showing of main functional parameters such as:
- air face velocity and exhausting flow rate
- residual time to next filter or prefilter replacement/control (two different timers)
- working opening height
- air temperature
- warming-up cycle with self-testing routint of the prefilter saturation level
The TIMELOG allow the showing of the following alarms:
- air face velocity below the safety-threshold
- working opening height above maximum
- air-temperature beyond maximum level for a good absorption capacity
- expired filter/prefilter estimated lifetime
